I'm Definitely Not On Vacation Anymore

I wanted to blog a whole lot more this week than what I did. But I was so busy with getting back to the "normal" schedule, I was not able to spare one moment to blog. It was tragic!

This last week I somehow decided that it was a great week to schedule the dentist and doctor appointments. I was, afterall, refreshed from my vacation week. It seemed like a good week to get those ever-so-important appointments done. Wow! I was wrong. It turned out to be an even more crazy week to have all those things crammed into our already hectic schedule. But then, when is it ever a good week to see the doctors? Of course, my opinion is slightly skewed and I'm sure everyone knows my answer to that.

But, since I'm on the subject, I will tell everyone about my appointment with my oncologist. I had my 3 month MRI and it's actually better news than last time. There was no new growth in my tumor, which is really great news. But, she did tell me that I will never have a normal MRI again. I will always have a damaged spinal cord and there will never be "improvement". But as long as my tumor seems stable, we can go a little longer with monitoring it. So now, I don't have to have another MRI for 6 months. I'm happy with that. Even though I still have effects from the damage that the radiation and the tumor have done to me, I feel good that for now it's stablized. It's definitely something to be positive about. And if I don't have to deal with the doctors for another 6 months, I will be ecstatic for sure! :)

  1. This is great news, Joy! It is so important to celebrate seemingly little victories because we never know when the next one is coming! So glad to hear you are doing well! Love you!
